[EVENT RECAP] PSU Movin’ On

Mountain Productions set the main and side stages for the 2016 Movin’ On festival, along with a front of house and barricade. PSU’s Movin’ On festival is in its 41st year, and welcomed musical artists Nelly, Walk the Moon, Misterwives and more.

[EVENT RECAP] The NFL Draft: Selection Square

Mountain Productions is proud to have provided the main stage and multiple ancillary structures for the NFL Draft Selection Square in Chicago, IL. The NFL Draft is one of the biggest events in sports of the year (last year it was watched by a record 45.7 million viewers!) It just makes sense that Mountain Productions was asked to engineer and build one of the largest stage structures that we’ve ever built for this major NFL event.

This is their newest LINO in their laser level line, and is an all-in-one 180° multi-line laser layout tool that combines the power of line lasers and point lasers. Gear Inspection Tips – Part 2: Rigging Hardware

We’re back with more inspection tips and procedures, but this time we’re focusing on rigging hardware, including CM shackles, LiftAll’s slings (Steelflex and Tuflex) and wire rope, CM trolleys, and Chicago Hardware turnbuckles. CM Shackles

(Carbon Steel Shackles, Theatrical Shackles)

  • Shackles should be visually inspected before each use in line with ASME B30.26 regulations
  • Shackles must be properly used to avoid damage and wear. Remember, the WLL is reduced depending on the angle your hanging load is pulling. Always refer to a competent and skilled rigger if there is any doubt on proper installation.

Mountain Productions’ original stage system, the Hercules Grid System has paved the way for our current stage structures, as well as helped guide the industry standards in temporary staging. The Hercules Grid System was engineered and designed in the early 80s, and quickly became the leading stage for countless high-end festivals and events, including the Jackson’s Victory Tour, Lollapalooza, Woodstock and more. For around 20 years, Mountain Productions provided the Hercules Grid System exclusively before the creation of our truss tower system and Mountain Truss.
