It wasn’t voted the “best musical festival in the world” by DJ magazine for nothing.
Ultra Music Festival continues its reign as one of the premier electronic music events of the year with a staggering 165,000 fans and 14.1 million live streamers as proof of the event’s wild success. The UMF experience grows to groundbreaking heights each year, and its 19th edition was a whirlwind of larger-than-life production, a world-class lineup of EDM’s biggest performers, and eight stages of heart-pumping rhythms.
Few festivals can match the unforgettable energy and vibe that Ultra’s hundreds of thousands of fans generate during the three-day event. With the help of all-star performers like Hardwell, Tiesto, Alesso, Zedd, Major Lazer, Armin Van Buuren, and hundreds more, fans are treated to an electronic music experience that remains a “must-attend” event for fans across the globe.
UMF is the celebrated grand finale of Miami Music Week—a seven-day marathon of parties and musical events that occupies every venue in the city. Miami Music Week is world-renowned for its massive scale and dedication to the electronic music scene. In 2016, 1,180+ artists performed at over 260 events hosted at more than 78 venues. Ultra Music Festival is the perfect conclusion to end the week of “dance music paradise.”
Staging Ultra Music Festival
Mountain Productions proudly provides staging systems and equipment for Ultra Music Festival. This year, our colossal MTN Truss HD+ Stage System returned to stand as the main stage, brandishing the famous “U” logo synonymous with the UMF experience. No other system can support the amount of production, lights, and video elements as safely and securely as the MTN Truss HD+.
Along with the main stage structure, our team traveled to Bayfront Park with a caravan of trailers full of the equipment needed to build ancillary structures and side stages throughout the event grounds. The Mountain crew setup a multi-level main stage VIP area, several FOH mix positions, the UMF Stage, Bayfront Stage VIP area, video support structures, a walkway that provided access to main stage over a large fountain, and much more. We also worked with the UMF’s production requirements to generate rigging plots for our systems.
Weeks of hard work are undoubtedly worthwhile when the entrance gates open and flocks of smiling, eager fans rush to the front of the stage. All of the vendors, workers, and crews involved with the 2017 Ultra Music Festival helped to collectively create something that we can all be proud of, which is the reason why we love this industry in the first place.
It still might be a few days until we stop dreaming of that final bass drop.
