The Governor’s Ball Music Festival has grown since its conception in 2011 to feature some of the biggest names in the music industry as well as offer a wide variety of popular NYC food vendors and outdoor activities. 2015’s Gov. Ball hosted artists including Björk, Florence and the Machine, Drake, Lana del Rey, The Black Keys, Deadmau5 and more. Mountain Productions provided multiple stage structures for the festival, including the Mountain Truss system that stood as the main stage.
For a festival of this size, the Mountain Truss System is a perfect solution, offering the load bearing capacity and footprint to accommodate the most production-heavy acts. This system stood 70′ tall and was configured to 80′ wide with 20′ wide audio bays. The main performance area offered nearly 50′ of clearance, and 2 “floating” VIP risers were installed on-stage for exclusive viewing.
Mountain Productions built not only the main stage, but also several supporting structures throughout the festival grounds. Multiple VIP and ADA compliant platforms were assembled along with camera platforms and a main stage mix position. 2 spot/delay towers stood 41′ tall to keep the music pumping into the audience.
The SAM-550 mobile stage unit was assembled as the “Big Apple Stage” with covered side wings for equipment storage and load in. Inside of a tent, Mountain Productions built interior decking for the Gotham Tent Stage along with supporting camera platforms, projector platforms, docks, ramps and an FOH.
