Founded in 2012 by hip hop household name Jay-Z, the Budweiser Made in America Festival is a 2 day celebration of diverse music (hip hop, rock, pop, R&B, EDM) and culture. Located in the heart of Philadelphia, Mountain Productions has set up staging at MIA in 2012 and again this year. The 2013 event took place on August 31st and September 1st and hosted a variety of high profile performers, including Beyoncé, Deadmau5, Empire of the Sun, Calvin Harris, Nine Inch Nails, Kendrick Lamar and more.
The Liberty Stage
Mountain Productions rolled into Philadelphia to set up the Liberty Stage and Freedom Stage. The Liberty Stage was a scaffold system with a 60×60 Hercules roof grid. Custom scrims and video screens hung from the approx. 50′ tall scaffold wings. The stage sat on a sloped incline that dropped almost 6′ from left to right. Mountain also built the FOH for the Liberty Stage as well as a 1,448 sq/ft VIP platform.
The Freedom Stage
The Freedom Stage featured Mountain Productions’ largest mobile stage – the SAM-550. Custom sound wing scrims were created and video panels and LEDs adorned the stage. The Freedom Stage primarily hosted the electronic artists, pumping out huge waves of bass the whole festival. Another scaffold mix position was constructed for the Freedom Stage.
